Descendants of Jakob Marty

Jacob Marti (1797 - 1843) and his wife, Cleophea Marti (1796 - 1849) were married 4 December, 1817 in Engi, Glarus, Switzerland and had nine children, two of whom immigrated to America. Jakob was a member of the council or Tagwenvogt for the village of Engi.

Fredolin Marty (1831 - 1907) immigrated from Engi, Glarus, Switzerland before 1857. He owned a farm in the Lake Elmo, Minnesota area. Fredolin and Sophia purchased it in 1865 from the Wagner family and they raised nine children there.

Their house was moved twice; once to accommodate construction of Hwy 12 and again for Interstate 94. The house was eventually located in the historic Irvine Park neighborhood in St. Paul. It is known as the Wagner/Marty house at #38 Irvine Park. This neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and also includes the home of Governor Ramsey.

Sophia is a member of the Dersch and Vollmer families from Lakeland Township, Washington County, Minnesota. Her father is Johann Otto Dersch, born 29 September 1793, in Niederasphe, Hesse, Germany. (Her tombstone says Nieder Aspen) Her mother is Anna Elisabeth Vollmer, born 4 September, 1807, in Wetter, Hesse, Germany. She came to America in September of 1851. She had three brothers, Daniel, Johannes and Otto, and a stillborn twin brother. I am looking for any members of these families.

There are Dersch's buried at St. Lucas Church at Horseshoe Lake. There is also a Vollmer Cemetery located somewhere in Lakeland Township that I cannot find. I have the approximate directions, but cannot find it by driving around the area. If anyone out there can help me locate it, I would really appreciate it.
